As part of the book promotion Democracy: Demokratia, we talked after the public meeting. A special thanks to the committee members for allowing me to speak. It was a wonderful event with food and beverages available.

Sunday 12th January, 2025. The Woodridge Community Association public meeting.
The content of the speech was aimed at creating a stronger and united community. Participation by people in community affairs is an important aspect of Democracy. Strengthening communities also strengthens Democracy.
As the ancient Athenian philosopher Plato said:
“The greatest cost to our lives, for not leading, is to have worse people leading” (Plato).
Seeing the efforts of John Anderson – President, Courtney Nelson – Secretary and Susan Harrison – Treasurer, along with the solid backing of community members, I was pleased to embrace the opportunity to speak. Working with tyranny and embracing a stronger community that is resilient and autonomous were the key points raised. I hope that this community strengthens over time and becomes a pilot for other local communities to follow.
